ADVANCING WOMEN IN ENGINEERING

Supporting Women who Pursue a Career in Power Electronics

Inclusiveness allows PELS to embrace the diversity of its members and their careers while respecting everyone’s needs and values with honesty and transparency. To support PELS’s commitment to fostering inclusion throughout its organization and programming, the PELS Women in Engineering (WIE) group was formed.

PELS WIE is dedicated to developing events that support and welcome the entire community to join the conversation. Its goal is to facilitate recruiting and retaining women in technical disciplines globally. The group envisions a vibrant community of women and men in IEEE who collectively use their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity. It is also a part of the global IEEE WIE network with over 22,000 IEEE members and volunteers who promote women engineers and scientists and inspire girls to follow their academic interests.

Develop Resources

PELS WIE understands that each member’s contributions are essential for growth.  During various events, resources are created that help members and non-members in their careers and understand the various sections of PELS.

Membership Advancement

PELS WIE actively supports women members in becoming IEEE Senior Members. The committee identifies women engineers who can become IEEE Fellows by tracking statistics of female PELS members who are a part of various PELS committees, such as the Administrative Committee.
