Power Electronics for Distributed Energy Systems (ITRD)
Distributed energy resources are rapidly growing in grids with power electronics technologies, enabling additional functionalities and value-added services. The ITRD group is calling for volunteers to work together to provide guidance and foresight for distributed energy resources while developing working groups to produce a background whitepaper in this focus area.
High-Power Electronics for Modern Energy Grids (ITRG)
The worldwide shift towards electrification and digitalization mandates the adoption of energy-efficient and economically viable methods for electricity generation, transmission, and utilization. The ITRG group is currently seeking volunteers who will focus on the areas of active and passive components, communication, control, hardware integration, modeling, and protection for high power electronic systems.
Wide Bandgap Power Semiconductors (ITRW)
Silicon carbide and gallium nitride devices have superior characteristics and will eventually become pervasive in the major application areas of power electronics. The ITRW group is looking for volunteers to help foster and promote the research, education, innovation, and application of WBG technologies globally through a reliable and comprehensive view of the strategic research agenda and working closely with industry, academia, and relevant roadmap organizations.
Energy Access Community
PELS Working Group
This group oversees the organization of the Empower a Billion Lives global competition and workshops dedicated to decentralized energy access and invites interested members from various aspects of the community (e.g. business, policy, social impact, social responsibility, and technology) to join.
