IEEE Fellow
A Distinction for Select IEEE Members with Extraordinary Accomplishments
IEEE fellow is the highest grade of IEEE membership that is given only by the IEEE Board of Directors. A candidate must be an IEEE member for at least five years and is currently an IEEE Senior Member.
A nominator is responsible for:
- Determining which IEEE Society's or Council's evaluating committee will assess the candidate's technical qualifications and contributions
- Finding three to five IEEE Fellows that will agree to assess the candidate's contributions and serve as references
- Preparing the formal nomination form
All materials are sent to the Fellows Committee, which reviews all nominations and prepares a ranked list. The total number of Fellow recommendations each year cannot exceed 0.1% of IEEE membership (excluding Student an Associate members).
